Should I Work Out When I'm Sick?

I get asked this question all the time, and the answer is... it depends.
If you’re feeling very sick, then I would avoid working out and going to the gym altogether, so that you don’t feel worse and potentially spread your cold to others.
If you’re feeling mildly sick and really want to work out, then I’d recommend keeping the workout light.
High intensity workouts can suppress your immune system for a few hours which may worsen your cold.
For example, instead of lifting as heavy as possible, I'd recommend lifting lighter. Instead of running or doing HIIT, you can go for a walk.
If you’re starting to feel sick, then keep the workout light or make it a rest day! Sometimes our bodies just need rest and recovery, and it's up to us to take care of ourselves and our bodies.
Remember to listen to your body! ❤️
